Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.

  1. Check output value of master cylinder pressure sensor.

    PREPARATION:

    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester.

    CHECK:

Check that the brake fluid pressure value of the master cylinder pressure sensor observed in the hand-held tester changes when the brake pedal is depressed.

    OK:

Brake fluid pressure value should change.

    1. OK: Replace brake actuator assembly.
NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).
    2. NG: Go To Next Step
  2. Check whether or not ECU terminal STP input voltage changes when stop light switch comes on and off.
    1. NO: Check stop light switch circuit (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).
    2. YES: If same code is still output after DTC is deleted, check contact condition of each connection. If connections are normal, ECU may be defective.
NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).
