Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step  1 when using the hand-held tester and start from  2 when not using the hand-held tester.

  1. Check operation of ABS warning light. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.

    CHECK: 

    Check that the ABS warning light can be turned ON and OFF on the combination meter using the hand-held tester.

    OK: 

    The ABS warning light illuminates. 

    1. OK: Replace brake actuator assembly. 
      NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).
    2. NG: Go To Next Step 
  2. Check ABS warning light. 

    See the combination meter troubleshooting on INSPECTION .

    1. NG: Repair bulb or combination meter assembly (See  CIRCUIT  ). 
    2. OK: Go To Next Step 
  3. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between skid control ECU and ABS warning light (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness and connector. 
    2. OK: Replace brake actuator assembly. 
    NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).
