Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (see CALIBRATION ).
  1. INSPECT FUSE (ABS NO.1)
    1. Remove the ABS No.1 fuse from the engine room R/B.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard:

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (1 OF 3)

ABS No. 1 fuse Below 1 Ω (Continuity)

NG: CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESS AND CONNECTOR CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE

    OK: Go to next step.

  2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (+BS TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard:

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (2 OF 3)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    S1-31 (+BS) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (+BS CIRCUIT)

    OK: Go to next step.

  3. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (GND TERMINAL CONTINUITY)
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard:

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (3 OF 3)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    S1-32 (GND1) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND CIRCUIT)

    OK: Go to next step.

  4. RECONFIRM DTC

    HINT:

These codes are detected when a problem is determined in the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy.

The ABS solenoid relay is in the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy.

Therefore, solenoid relay circuit inspection relay unit inspection cannot be performed. Be sure to check if the DTC code is output before replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy.

    1. Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    Are the same DTCs recorded?

    NG: END

    HINT:

These DTCs may be memorized due to a malfunction in the connector terminal.

YES: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
