Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Check transmission wire

    PREPARATION:

    Disconnect the transmission wire connector.

    CHECK:

Measure resistance between SL of transmission wire and body ground.

    OK:

    1. Resistance: 11 to 15 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
    1. NG: Go to   3
    2. OK: Go to next step
  2. Measure resistance between terminals SL of ECM and body ground.

    PREPARATION:

    1. Connect the transmission wire connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    CHECK:

Measure resistance between terminals SL of ECM connector and body ground.

    OK:

    1. Resistance: 11 to 15 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
    1. NG: Repair or replace the harness or connector (  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ).

    2. OK: Replace the ECM.
  3. Check shift solenoid valve SL operation.

    PREPARATION:

    1. Jack up the vehicle.
    2. Remove the oil pan.
    3. Remove the shift solenoid valve SL.

    CHECK:

    1. Measure resistance between terminal SL of shift solenoid valve and solenoid body.
    2. Connect positive (+) lead to terminal of solenoid connector, negative (-) lead to solenoid body.

    OK:

    1. (a) Resistance: 11 to 15 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
    2. (b) The shift solenoid valve SL makes operation noise.
    1. NG: Replace the shift solenoid valve SL.
