Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Check other DTCs output (in addition to DTC P0756) 

    PREPARATION:

    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Connect the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    5. Push the "ON" button of the OBD II scan tool or the hand-held tester.
    6. Select the item "DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES".

    CHECK:

    Read the DTCs using the OBD II scan tool or the hand-held tester.

    RESULT:

    DTC OUTPUT RESULT

    Display (DTC output) Proceed to
    Only "P0756" is output A
    "P0756" and other DTCs B
    NOTE: If any other codes besides "P0756" is output, perform the troubleshooting for those DTCs first.
    1. B: Go to relevant DTC chart (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
    2. A: Go to next step 
  2. Check shift solenoid valve S2 (No. 2) operation. 

    PREPARATION:

    1. Jack up the vehicle.
    2. Remove the oil pan.
    3. Remove the shift solenoid valve S2 (No. 2).

    CHECK:

    Measure the resistance between the solenoid connector terminal and the body ground.

    OK:

    1. Resistance: 11 to 15 Ω at 20°C (68°F) 

    CHECK:

    Connect the battery positive lead to the solenoid connector terminal and the battery negative lead to the solenoid body ground.

    OK:

    1. Solenoid sounds operation noise.

    1. NG: Replace the shift solenoid valve S2 (No. 2). 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  3. Check valve body (See chapter 2 in the  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  . 
    1. NG Repair or replace the valve body ( VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY ).
    2. OK: Repair or replace the transaxle (  AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE UNIT  ).
