Inspection Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Check speed sensor (NT).
PREPARATION:
Remove the NT speed sensor from the transaxle.
CHECK:
- Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of speed sensor.
- Check voltage between terminals 1 and 2 of the speed sensor when a magnet is put close to the front end of the speed sensor then taken away quickly.
OK:
- (a) Resistance: 560 to 680 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
- (b) Voltage is generated intermittently.
NOTE: The generated voltage is extremely low.- NG: Replace the speed sensor (NT) (See DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR ).
- OK: Go to next step
- Check harness and connector between ECM and speed sensor (NT).
PREPARATION:
- Connect the speed sensor connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
CHECK:
Measure the resistance between NT+ and NT- of the ECM connector.

OK:
- Resistance: 560 to 680 Ω at 20 C (68 F)
CHECK:
Measure the resistance between body ground and NT+, and body ground and NT- of the ECM connector respectively.
OK:
- Resistance: 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: Repair or replace the harness or connector ( HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- OK: Replace the ECM.
