Drive Plate (Flexplate) Runout Test

Measure drive plate runout. See Fig 2. If runout exceeds .008" (.20 mm), or if ring gear is damaged, replace drive plate. If installing a NEW drive plate, note position of spacers. Tighten bolts to 58 ft. lbs. (78 N.m) on Celica, or 65 ft. lbs. (88 N.m) on ECHO.
