Valve Body Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove 5 bolts and 5 shift solenoids. See Fig 1 and Fig 3 . Remove 14 valve body assembly lower bolts, 2 gaskets and plate. See Fig 4. DO NOT lose check balls. Turn valve body assembly over. Remove bolt, cover and pressure relief ball from upper valve body. Remove 9 valve body assembly upper bolts. See Fig 5.
  2. Turn valve body assembly over. Hold plate against lower valve body and carefully remove lower valve body from upper valve body. Remove plate from lower valve body. DO NOT lose check balls. Remove 3 bolts, cover, forward clutch accumulator piston and spring from lower valve body. Remove "O" rings from accumulator piston. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove 4 bolts, cover and 2nd coast and O/D brake accumulator piston and spring. Remove "O" rings from accumulator piston. See Fig 1. Note location of check balls, keys, plugs and pins in valve body. See Figure-Figure .
