Luggage Compartment Door And Hinge (Sedan): Removal

  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER 

    Remove the 5 clips and luggage compartment door cover.

  2. REMOVE KEY CYLINDER 
    1. Disconnect the link.
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and key cylinder.

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and luggage compartment door lock assembly.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf) 

    2. Disconnect the cable.
  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR 

    Remove the 4 bolts and door.

    Torque: 8.0 N.m (85 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf) 

  5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT 
  6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Remove the 2 clips and rear floor finish plate.

  7. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVERS 
    1. Remove the 5 clips and luggage compartment trim side cover.
    2. Remove the other using the same procedures described above in step (a).

  8. 2-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE 

    1. Insert a screwdriver between the front door scuff plate and body to pry the scuff plate out.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2. Remove the other using the same procedures described above in step (a).
  9. 2-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIMS 

    Remove the front door opening trims except the cowl side trim part.

  10. 4-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE 

    1. Insert a screwdriver between the rear door scuff plate and body to pry the scuff plate.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2. Remove the other using the same procedures described above in step (a).
  11. 4-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIMS 

  12. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION (See  REAR SEAT (SEDAN WITH BENCH TYPE)  or  REAR SEAT (SEDAN WITH SEPARATE TYPE)  ) 
  13. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK (See  REAR SEAT (SEDAN WITH BENCH TYPE)  or  REAR SEAT (SEDAN WITH SEPARATE TYPE)  )

  14. 2-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE QUARTER TRIM 

    1. Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Torque: 41 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) 

    2. w/ Split type rear seat:

      Remove the bolt and rear seatback hinge.

      Torque: 37 N.m (380 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

    3. Insert a screwdriver between the quarter trim and body to pry the quarter trim out.

      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    4. Remove the other using the same procedures described above.
  15. 2-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH 

    1. Using a screwdriver, open the seat belt shoulder anchor cover cap.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.

      Torque: 41 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)

    3. Remove the clips.
    4. Insert a screwdriver between the roof side inner garnish and vehicle body to pry the garnish out.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    5. Remove the other using the same procedures described above.

  16. 4-Door vehicle: 

    REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH 

    1. Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Torque: 41 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) 

    2. w/ Split type rear seat:

      Remove the bolt and rear seatback hinge.

      Torque: 41 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) 

    3. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear seat side garnish.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    4. Remove the other using the same procedures described above.

  17. 4-door vehicle: 

    REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH 

    1. Remove the clips.
    2. Insert a screwdriver between the roof side inner garnish and body to pry the garnish out.
      NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    3. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  18. REMOVE HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT 
    1. Remove the high-mounted stop light, as shown in the illustration.
    2. Disconnect the connector.

  19. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL 
    1. Remove the 2 clips.
    2. Remove the rear seat belts through the cutout on the package tray trim.
    3. Pull the package tray trim panel forward to remove it.
  20. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM SILENCER PAD

  21. REMOVE TORSION BAR 
    1. Remove the torsion bars from the center bracket.

    2. Install SST to the torsion bar on the hinge side.

      SST 09804-24010

    3. Push down on SST, and pull the luggage compartment door hinge from the torsion bar.
    4. Slowly lift SST, and remove the torsion bar from the torsion bar bracket with SST.

    5. Disconnect the torsion bar from the bracket.
    6. Remove the other using the same procedures described above.
  22. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE 
    1. Remove the pin.
    2. Remove the hinge.
    3. Remove the other using the same procedures described above.
  23. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WEATHERSTRIP
