Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (see
CALIBRATION ).
- CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH OPERATION
- Check that the stop light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and goes off when the brake pedal is released.
OK: Stop lamp switch function is normal.
HINT: Check the stop lamp bulb as it may have burnt out.
- NG: Go to step 3 .
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP TERMINAL)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGETester Connection Switch condition Specified Condition S1-27(STP)-Body ground Brake pedal depressed 8 to 14 V S1-27(STP)-Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1 V
- NG: Go to step 4 .
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- INSPECT STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch assy connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCESwitch condition Tester connection Specified condition Switch pin free 1-2 Below 1 Ω Switch pin pushed in 1-2 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: REPLACE STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LAMP SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector and skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
STOP LAMP SWITCH AND SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINALS RESISTANCETester Connection Specified Condition S1-27 (STP)-S9-1 (STP) Below 1 Ω - Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL AND BODY RESISTANCETester Connection Specified Condition S1-27 (STP)-Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
