Inspection Procedure

HINT:

  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STEERING SENSOR CONNECTOR) 
    1. Remove the steering wheel and the column lower cover.
    2. Disconnect the steering sensor connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      STEERING SENSOR CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S12-1 (IG1)-S12-2 (ESS) IG switch ON 10 to 14 V
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      STEERING SENSOR CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S12-3(BAT)-S12-2 (ESS) IG switch ON 10 to 14 V
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

      REPLACE STEERING SENSOR (SEE  STEERING SENSOR  )
