Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the C9 connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C9-6-Body ground Ignition switch ACC or ON 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: Go to step 2 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

      Go to step   4 

  2. INSPECT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Remove the passenger seat belt warning light with connector still connected.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      F7-1 - F7-2 Ignition switch ON 8 to 12 V
    1. NG: REPLACE PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN COMBINATION METER ASSY AND PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT) (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    1. Disconnect the C9 and F7 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      F7-1 - C9-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      C9-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

      REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GAUGE FUSE CIRCUIT) 

  4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Remove the combination meter with connectors still connected.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      C9-11 - Body ground Indicator light ON (P-BELT) --> OFF Below 1 Ω --> 10 to 14 V
    1. NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

  5. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Disconnect the B7 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      B7-1 - B7-2 Belt is fastened (Passenger side) Below 1 Ω
      B7-1 - B7-2 Belt is unfastened (Passenger side) 10 kΩ or higher
    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  6. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      X22-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      X22-9 - Body ground Seat belt is fastened 8 to 11 V
      X22-9 - Body ground Seat belt is unfastened 3 to 4.5 V

    1. NG: REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU AND FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE)) (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    1. Disconnect the X22 and B7 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      B7-1 - X22-9 Always Below 1 Ω
      B7-2 - X22-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      B7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B7-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER AND OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU) (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    1. Disconnect the X22 and A14 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      A14-12 - X22-8 Always Below 1 Ω
      A14-13 - X22-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      A14-12 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A14-13 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

      REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER AND COMBINATION METER ASSY CIRCUIT)
