Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the F10 connector from the fuel sender gauge assy.
- Check the meter indicator conditions according to the table below.
Standard:
WIRE CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONWire connection Condition Specified Condition 2-3 Short circuit (Ignition switch ON) Fuel gauge indicates "F" or more (Combination meter) - Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4 to 7V
- NG: Go to step 3
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSY
- Remove the fuel sender gauge assy.
- Check that the float position is between E and F.
- Measure the resistance between terminals 2 and 3 of the connector according to the value (s) in the table below.

- NG: REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE COMBINATION METER ASSY )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSY AND COMBINATION METER ASSY) (SEE HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
)
- Disconnect the C9 and F10 connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified Condition C9-7 - F10-2 Always Below 1 Ω C9-22 - F10-3 Always Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE COMBINATION METER ASSY )
