Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (see CALIBRATION
).
- CHECK FUSE (ABS NO.3)
- Remove the ABS No.3 fuse from the engine room J/B.
- Check continuity of the ABS No.3 fuse.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (1 OF 3)ABS No.3 fuse Below 1Ω (Continuity)
- NG: CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESS AND CONNECTOR CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to Next Step.
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (+BS TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (2 OF 3)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-31 (+BS)-S1-1 (GND2) 10 to 14 V S1-31 (+BS)-S1-32 (GND1) 10 to 14 V
- OK: Go to step 4
NG: Go to Next Step.
- INSPECT HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (3 OF 3)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-1 (GND2) - Body ground Below 1 Q S1-32 (GND1) - Body ground Below 1 Q
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY)
- RECONFIRM DTC
- Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Are the same DTCs recorded? (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR )
- NO: END
HINT:
These DTCs may be memorized due to a malfunction in the connector terminal.
YES: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
