Curtain Shield Air Bag ASSY LH: Replacement

HINT:

• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION  
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

   Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 

   HINT:

   Refer to the procedures up to roof headlining assy removal.

4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSY LH 
   1. Remove the curtain shield airbag assy LH in the order shown in the illustration.
      1. Remove the 9 bolts in order of A to I.

   2. Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag assy LH.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
5. INSPECT CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSY LH (SEE  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
6. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSY LH 
   NOTE: Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assy LH when installing it.
   1. Connect the connector to the curtain shield airbag assy LH.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
   2. Install the curtain shield airbag assy LH in the order shown in the illustration.
      1. Install the 9 bolts in order of A to I.

         Torque: 

         Bolt F: 11 N.m (112 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf) 

         Bolt A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

7. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (SEE  INITIALIZATION  ) 

   Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.

10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (SEE  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  )
