YAWRATE Sensor: Replacement

NOTE:
  • Do not use dropped or damaged yaw rate sensors.
  • Prevent foreign matter from attaching between the yaw rate sensor bracket and body.
  • Confirm that the sensor direction is correct.
  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  4. REMOVE YAWRATE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and yaw rate sensor.

  5. INSTALL YAWRATE SENSOR 
    1. Install the yaw rate sensor with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 14 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) 

    2. Connect the yaw rate sensor connector.

  6. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  7. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  9. PERFORM YAWRATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (SEE  CALIBRATION  ) 
  10. INSPECT ABS WARNING LIGHT AND VSC WARNING LIGHT (SEE  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ) 
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (SEE  INITIALIZATION  ) 
    1. Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the negative battery cable
