Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point CALIBRATION  .
  1. Check battery voltage.

    CHECK:

    Check battery voltage.

    OK:

    Voltage: 11 to 14V

    1. NG: Check and repair  CHARGING SYSTEM  : 1GR-FE or  CHARGING SYSTEM  : 2UZ-FE.
    2. OK: Go to next step.
  2. Check IGN fuse (Access Cab., Standard Cab.)/IGN1 fuse (Double Cab.).

    PREPARATION:

Remove the IGN fuse/IGN1 fuse from the driver side J/B.

    CHECK:

Measure the resistance of the IGN fuse/IGN1 fuse.

    OK:

    Resistance: Below 1 Ω (Continuity)

    1. NG: Check for short circuit in all the harnesses and components connected to IGN fuse/IGN1 fuse and replace fuse.
    2. OK: Go to next step.
  3. Measure the voltage of the master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU IG2 terminal).

    PREPARATION:

    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S30.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    CHECK:

Measure the voltage between terminal IG2 and body ground.

    OK:

    Voltage: 10 to 14V

    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector (IG2 circuit).
    2. OK: Go to next step.
  4. Check harness and connector (GND3 terminal).

    PREPARATION:

Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S30.

    CHECK:

Measure the resistance between terminal GND3 of the skid control ECU harness side connector and body ground.

    OK:

    Below 1 Ω (Continuity)

    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector (GND3 circuit).
    2. OK: Go to next step.
  5. Reconfirm DTC (See  DTC CHECK / CLEAR   ).

    PREPARATION:

    Clear the DTC.

    CHECK:

Check if the same DTC is detected.

    RESULT:

    DTC OUTPUT RESULT

    DTC is output A
    DTC is not output B
    1. B: END.
    2. A: Replace master cylinder solenoid (See  DISASSEMBLY  ).
