Inspection Procedure
HINT:
The inclination sensor built in combination meter (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the Fuel sender gauge connector.
- Check the needle indications according to the table below.
Standard:
WIRE CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONWire Connection Condition Specified Condition 5 to 6 Short circuit (Power switch ON (IG)) Fuel gauge indicates "F" 5 to 6 Open circuit (Power switch ON (IG)) Fuel gauge indicates "EMPTY" - Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition F14-5 - Body ground Power switch ON (ACC or IG) 10 to 14 V NG: Go to step 3
OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE
- Disconnect the Fuel sender gauge connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:

NG: REPLACE FUEL TANK ASSY
OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE INSTRUMENT PANEL/METER )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSY AND COMBINATION METER ASSY) (SEE INTRODUCTION
)
- Disconnect the F14 and C10 connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition C10-31 - F14-6 Always Below 1 Ω C10-15 - F14-5 Always Below 1 Ω C10-15 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE INSTRUMENT PANEL/METER )
