Instrument Panel: Removal

NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before using it to pry parts.
  1. Remove Steering Wheel Pad And Steering Wheel (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. Remove Door Scuff Plates 
  3. Remove Cowl Side Trims 
  4. Remove No. 1 Lower Finish Panel 
    1. Remove the bolt, screw and DLC3.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 1 lower finish panel.
  5. Remove Instrument Panel Lower Pad Insert 
  6. Remove Column Covers 

    Remove the 3 screws and upper and lower column covers.

  7. Remove Spiral Cable (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. Remove Wiper And Washer Switch And Light Control Switch And Headlight Dimmer Switch (See  REMOVAL  )

  9. Remove Instrument Cluster Finish Panel

    Using a screwdriver, remove the cluster finish panel.

  10. Remove Combination Meter 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and combination meter.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
  11. Remove Glove Compartment Door 
    1. Open the glove compartment door.

    2. Push both sides of the glove compartment door inward and pull it out.
  12. Remove Passenger Airbag Assembly (See  REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. Remove Passenger Airbag Manual On-Off Switch (See  REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  ) 
  14. Remove Hood Release Lever 
  15. Remove Center Instrument Cluster Finish Panel 
    1. Remove the 4 knobs and 2 screws.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the center cluster finish panel.

    3. Disconnect the clock connector from the clock.
  16. Remove Ash Receptacle Outer Case And Stereo Player Finish Panel 
    1. Remove the ash receptacle box.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts ash receptacle retainer.

    3. Using a screwdriver, remove the ash receptacle outer case.
    4. Using a screwdriver, remove the stereo finish panel.
  17. Remove No. 1 And No. 2 Instrument Panel Brace Outer Covers And No.3 Instrument Panel Brace Inner Covers 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 2 instrument panel brace outer covers and No. 3 instrument panel brace inner covers.

    2. Remove the 4 screws and No. 1 instrument panel brace outer covers.
    3. Remove the 4 screws and stereo.
  18. Disconnect Heater Control Cables (See  REMOVAL  ) 
    NOTE: When the air mix damper control cables are disconnected, be careful not to bend the cables.
  19. Remove Heater Control Assembly 
    1. Remove the 4 screws and control assembly.
    2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
  20. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN (See  REMOVAL  )

  21. Remove Front Pillar Garnishs 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and removable roof hook.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.

    3. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
  22. Remove Instrument Panel 
    1. Remove the nut, screw and No. 1 instrument panel lower mount bracket.
    2. Remove the 2 screws and center instrument panel bracket.

    3. Disconnect the connectors.
    4. Disengage the wire harness clamps.
    5. Remove the 5 bolts, nut, screw and instrument panel.
  23. Remove No. 1 And No. 2 Braces 
  24. Remove Reinforcement 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Disengage the wire harness clamps.
    3. Remove the 3 bolts, 5 nuts and reinforcement.

  25. Remove Console Box 
    1. M/T: Remove the shift knob.
    2. SMT: Remove the shift hole bezel.
    3. Remove the side brake cover.

    4. Remove the 4 screws and console box.
    5. Disconnect the power window switch connector.
  26. Remove Instrument Panel Wire 
  27. Remove No. 1 Heater To Register Duct 
  28. Remove No. 2 Heater To Register Duct 
  29. Remove No. 3 Heater To Register Duct 
  30. Remove No. 1 Instrument Panel Resister 
  31. Remove No. 2 Instrument Panel Resister 
  32. Remove No. 3 Instrument Panel Resister 
  33. Remove Light Control Rheostat 
  34. Remove Window Lock Switch 
  35. Remove Control Mirror Switch
