Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH-BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      6 - Body ground Below 1Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Press continuously transmission control switch 2-6 Below 1Ω
      Release transmission control switch uarr 10 kΩ or higher
    1. NG: REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH (See  COMPONENTS  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH-ECM) 
    1. Connect the transmission control switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
