Final Drive Side

- Secure the rear drive shaft in a vise.CAUTION: When securing the rear drive shaft in a vise, use copper or aluminum plates between the vise and the rear drive shaft.
- Remove the boot bands.
- If the plug needs to be removed, move the boot to the wheel side, then drive the plug out using a suitable tool.
- Remove the stopper ring using a suitable tool as shown below, and pull the housing out.
- Remove the snap ring using a suitable tool, then remove the ball cage, steel ball, inner race assembly from the rear drive shaft.
- Remove the boot from the rear drive shaft.
- Remove any old grease on the housing using paper towels.
