Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE: The Signal Tech II Tool (J-50190) can be used to perform the following functions. Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

Check Intelligent Key relative signal strength
Confirm vehicle Intelligent Key antenna signal strength

Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to "WIRING DIAGRAM ".

CHECK INSIDE KEY ANTENNA POWER SUPPLY SIGNAL

Turn ignition switch OFF.

Check signal between Intelligent Key unit connector and ground with an oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES: Center console area antenna (front) is OK.

NO: GO TO 2

CHECK INSIDE KEY ANTENNA

Disconnect Intelligent Key unit connector and center console area antenna (front) connectors.

Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector (A) M70 terminals 13, 14 and center console area antenna (front) harness connector (B) M210 terminals 1, 2.

Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector (A) M70 terminals 13, 14 and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES: GO TO 3

NO: Repair or replace harness between Intelligent Key unit and center console area antenna (front).

CHECK INSIDE KEY ANTENNA POWER SUPPLY SIGNAL

Replace inside key antenna. (New antenna or other antenna)
Connect Intelligent Key unit connector.

Check signal between Intelligent Key unit connector and ground with oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES: Replace center console area antenna (front).

NO: Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
