Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. Install the oil pan (upper) using the following steps.
    1. Using a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surfaces.
      • Also remove old liquid gasket from mating surface of oil pan (upper).
      • Remove old liquid gasket from bolt holes and threads.
      CAUTION: Do not scratch or damage the mating surfaces when cleaning off old liquid gasket.
    2. Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket as shown below using Tool.

      Tool number: WS39930000 (-) 

      Bead diameter (A): 4.0 - 5.0 mm (0.157 - 0.197 in) 

      Use Genuine RTV Silicone Sealant or equivalent. Refer to "RECOMMENDED CHEMICAL PRODUCTS AND SEALANTS ".

      CAUTION:
      • Apply liquid gasket to outside of bolt hole for the hole shown by * in figure below.

        Installation should be done within 5 minutes after applying liquid gasket.

    3. Install new O-rings to the oil pump and front cover side.
      CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.

    4. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in numerical order as shown below.

      M6 x 30 mm (1.18 in): No. 16, 17 

      M8 x 25 mm (0.98in): No. 1(15), 3, 5, 7, 9, 13 

      M8 x 45 mm (1.77 in): No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 14 

      M8 x 123 mm (4.84in): No. 11, 12

  2. Install the oil strainer to the oil pan (upper).
  3. Install the oil cooler. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
  4. Install the oil pan (lower).
    1. Using a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surfaces.
      • Also remove old liquid gasket from mating surface of oil pan (upper).
      • Remove old liquid gasket from bolt holes and thread.
      CAUTION: Do not scratch or damage the mating surfaces when cleaning off old liquid gasket.
    2. Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket using Tool as shown below.

      Tool number: WS39930000 (-)

      Use Genuine RTV Silicone Sealant or equivalent. Refer to "RECOMMENDED CHEMICAL PRODUCTS AND SEALANTS ".

      CAUTION: Installation should be done within 5 minutes after applying liquid gasket.
    3. Tighten the oil pan (lower) bolts to the specified torque in numerical order as shown below.
      CAUTION: Do not fill the engine with oil for at least 30 minutes after oil pan is installed to allow the sealant to cure.

  5. Installation of the remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.
