Removal and Installation: Installation

- Install the oil pan (upper) using the following steps.
- Using a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surfaces.
- Also remove old liquid gasket from mating surface of oil pan (upper).
- Remove old liquid gasket from bolt holes and threads.
CAUTION: Do not scratch or damage the mating surfaces when cleaning off old liquid gasket. - Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket as shown below using Tool.
Tool number: WS39930000 (-)
Bead diameter (A): 4.0 - 5.0 mm (0.157 - 0.197 in)
Use Genuine RTV Silicone Sealant or equivalent. Refer to "RECOMMENDED CHEMICAL PRODUCTS AND SEALANTS ".
CAUTION:- Apply liquid gasket to outside of bolt hole for the hole shown by * in figure below.
Installation should be done within 5 minutes after applying liquid gasket.
- Apply liquid gasket to outside of bolt hole for the hole shown by * in figure below.
- Install new O-rings to the oil pump and front cover side.CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
- Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in numerical order as shown below.
M6 x 30 mm (1.18 in): No. 16, 17
M8 x 25 mm (0.98in): No. 1(15), 3, 5, 7, 9, 13
M8 x 45 mm (1.77 in): No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 14
M8 x 123 mm (4.84in): No. 11, 12
- Using a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surfaces.
- Install the oil strainer to the oil pan (upper).
- Install the oil cooler. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Install the oil pan (lower).
- Using a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surfaces.
- Also remove old liquid gasket from mating surface of oil pan (upper).
- Remove old liquid gasket from bolt holes and thread.
CAUTION: Do not scratch or damage the mating surfaces when cleaning off old liquid gasket. - Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket using Tool as shown below.

CAUTION: Installation should be done within 5 minutes after applying liquid gasket. - Tighten the oil pan (lower) bolts to the specified torque in numerical order as shown below.CAUTION: Do not fill the engine with oil for at least 30 minutes after oil pan is installed to allow the sealant to cure.
- Using a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surfaces.
- Installation of the remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.
