Out Side Moulding: Replacement

HINT:

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

1. REMOVE OUTSIDE MOULDING 
   1. Put protective tape around the moulding.
   2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and moulding.
   3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to all wire ends.
   4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the moulding to the vehicle body.

      NOTE:

      • If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
      • Be Careful not to damage the body.
   5. Remove the moulding.
2. INSTALL OUTSIDE MOULDING LH 
   1. Using a heat light, heat the body.

      Heating temperature: 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F) 

      NOTE: Do not heat the body excessively.
   2. Remove the double-sided tape from the body.
   3. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
   4. Clean the moulding (if reusing).
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body.

         Heating temperature: 20 to 30 C (68 to 86 F) 

         NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the moulding.
      3. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
      4. Apply new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.

   5. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.

      Heating temperature: 

      HEATING TEMPERATURE
      
      

      Item	Temperature
      Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
      Moulding	20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

      NOTE: Do not heat the body and moulding excessively.
   6. Remove the peeling paper from the double-sided tape on the moulding face.
      NOTE: When the peeling paper is removed, take care that no dirt or dust contaminates the adhesive.
   7. Affix the moulding to the body, as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the moulding. Use steady pressure with your thumbs.
