Typical Malfunction Thresholds

TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS

Detection Criteria Threshold
Emission related misfire rate:
  1. During the first 1,000 revolutions after engine start (1 time will set MIL)
  2. After the first 1,000 revolutions have occurred (4 times will set MIL)
 1.44 % per 1,000 revolutions
Catalyst damage misfire count:
  1. Low engine rpm area (ex. less than 3,000 rpm): 200 rev. (3 times to set MIL)
  2. High engine rpm area: Every 200 revolutions
 75 count per 200 revolutions (threshold varies with engine speed, intake air amount per revolution)
