Front Axle Hub & Wheel Bearing: Installation

  1. Using SST and a press, install a new hub bearing to the steering knuckle, Special Tool (09950-60020, 09951-00720, 09950-70010, 09951-07100). See Figure. Install the dust cover front LH with the 3 bolts. Tighten bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Using SST and a press, install the hub sub-assembly, Special Tool (09608-32010, 09950-60010, 09951-00600, 09950-70010, 09951-07100). See Figure. Using snap ring pliers, install a NEW hole snap ring. Using NEW cotter pin, install the lower ball joint assembly and tighten nut to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW cotter pins. Tighten bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
