Inspection Procedure
- CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH OPERATION
- Check that the stop light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and goes off when the brake pedal is released.
HINT:
Check the stop lamp bulb as it may have burnt out.
Standard: Stop lamp switch function is normal.
- NG: Go to step 4 .
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- Check that the stop light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and goes off when the brake pedal is released.
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP TERMINAL)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SPECIFICATION TESTER CONNECTIONTester Connection Switch condition Specified Condition S27-27 (STP) -Body ground Brake pedal depressed 8 to 14 V S27-27 (STP) -Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1 V
- NG: Go to step 5 .
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- RECONFIRM PTC
- Clear the DTCs (see PRE-CHECK ).
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Are the same DTCs detected? (see PRE-CHECK ).
- NO: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- YES: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- INSPECT STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch assy connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SPECIFICATION TESTER CONNECTIONSwitch condition Tester connection Specified condition Switch pin free 1 - 2 Below 1 Ω Switch pin pushed in 1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: REPLACE STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LAMP SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector and skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SPECIFICATION TESTER CONNECTIONTester Connection Specified Condition S27-27 (STP) - S15-1 (STP) Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
