Rear Brake Caliper: Removal
WARNING:
There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the pads or disc.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove rear wheel, and temporarily install disc and tighten lug nuts.
- Use a container to catch brake fluid, remove the brakeline union bolt and gaskets and disconnect flexible hose from caliper. See Figure.
- Remove caliper:
- Remove caliper pins.
- remove caliper from torque plate.
- Remove inner and outer pads with anti squeal shims.
- Remove pad support plates.
NOTE:
Plug hose to prevent fluid leak.
