Power Brake Booster: Removal

  1. Remove the recharge pump assembly. See RECHARGE PUMP ASSEMBLY .
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster.
  3. Remove lower No. 1 instrument panel, lower left side instrument panel insert and No. 2 heater to register duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in INSTRUMENT PANELS - AVALON article.
  4. Remove brake booster assembly:
    1. Remove pedal return spring.
    2. Remove clip and clevis pin.
    3. Remove 4 nuts and clevis.
    4. Remove brake booster and discard gasket.
