Master Cylinder: Removal

Remove battery and disconnect level warning switch connector. See Figure. Draw brake fluid from reservoir with a syringe. On models with M/T, disconnect reservoir hose. Disconnect and plug brake lines. On models with ABS, remove 2 mounting nuts. Pull out check valve bracket and master cylinder. Remove gasket from cylinder. On models without ABS, remove 2 mounting nuts. Pull out check valve bracket, 3-way and master cylinder. Pull out reservoir stopper. Remove reservoir and 2 grommets. Remove cap and strainer from reservoir.
