Description & Operation

The hydraulic brake system uses a tandem master cylinder with vacuum power assist servo. Corolla is equipped with standard front disc and rear drum brakes.

A proportioning valve is used to regulate brake pressure between front and rear brakes. Rear drum brakes are self-adjusting.

Parking brake lever mechanically activates rear brakes. Cables apply rear shoes.

ABS actuator is located near right hand side of engine compartment.
