Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY OBD II SCAN TOOL OR HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Check indicators and warning light operation.
      1. Connect the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester to DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester main switch ON.
      3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester.
      4. Check that light turn ON or OFF as the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester directs

      OK: The indicator or warning light operates normally. 

      INDICATOR OR WARNING LIGHT LISTS

      Indicator Light Warning Light
      Shift Position Indicator A/T OIL TEMP Warning
      ECT SNOW FUEL Warning
      ..... CHARGE Warning
      ..... OIL PRESSURE Warning
      ..... Driver's Seat Belt Warning
      ..... Open Door Warning
    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
