Rear Brake Caliper: Removal

WARNING: There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the pads or disc.
  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove rear wheel, and temporarily install disc and tighten lug nuts.
  3. NOTE: Plug hose to prevent fluid leak.
  4. Use a container to catch brake fluid, remove the brakeline union bolt and gaskets and disconnect flexible hose from caliper. See Figure.
  5. Remove caliper:
    1. Remove caliper pins.
    2. remove caliper from torque plate.
    .
  6. Remove inner and outer pads with anti squeal shims.
  7. Remove pad support plates.
