Front Brake Caliper: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove front wheel.
  3. Temporarily install disc and tighten lug nuts.
  4. NOTE: Plug hose to prevent fluid leak.
  5. Use a container to catch brake fluid, remove the brakeline union bolt and gaskets and disconnect flexible hose from caliper. See Figure.
  6. Remove brake caliper. See Figure:
    1. Remove the 2 brake caliper bolts.
    2. Disconnect the caliper from the torque plate.
  7. Remove 2 brake pads with anti squeal shims.
  8. Remove 2 pad support plates.
