Inspection Procedure

  1. Perform Active Test By OBD II Scan Tool Or Toyota Hand-Held Tester 
    1. Check driver's seat belt warning operation.
      1. Connect the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester to DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
      3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester.
      4. Check that the driver's seat belt warning operation.
    1. OK: Go To Next Step  , (Read Value Of OBD II Scan Tool Or Toyota Hand-Held Tester).
    2. NG: Check And Replace Combination Meter Assy 
  2. Read Value Of OBD II Scan Tool Or Toyota Hand-Held Tester 
    1. Check output value of driver's side buckle switch.
      1. Connect the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester to DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
      3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester.
      4. Check the driver's buckle switch using DATA LIST.
    1. OK: Go To Next Step  , (Inspect Front Seat Inner Belt Assy LH (Buckle Switch).
    2. NG: Go To Step   5 
  3. Inspect Front Seat Inner Belt Assy LH (Buckle Switch)

    1. Check continuity.
      1. Disconnect the connector from seat belt inner belt RH.
      2. Check continuity between terminals 1 and 4 when buckle switch condition, as shown in the chart.

    1. OK: Go To Next Step  , (Check Harness And Connector (Between Body ECU And Front Seat Belt Inner LH).
    2. NG: Replace Front Seat Inner Belt Assy LH 
  4. Check Harness And Connector (Between Body ECU And Front Seat Belt Inner LH) 
    1. OK: Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU 
    2. NG: Repair Or Replace Harness Or Connector 
  5. Check That Malfunction Disappear A Known Good Combination Meter Is Installed 
    1. Check that malfunction disappear when a known good combination meter is installed.

    1. A : Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU 
    2. NG: Check And Replace Combination Meter Assy
