Inspection Procedure
- Check Buzzer (Parking Brake Warning, Key Unlock Warning, Open Door Warning)
- Check that the all of the warning buzzers sound.
- Inspect Multiplex Network Body ECU
- Check voltage.
- Remove the body ECU with connectors with still connected.
- Measure voltage between terminal CTY of body ECU and body ground.
Standard voltage:
- OK: Go to step 5 .
- NG: Go To Step 3 , (Inspect Front Door Courtesy Lamp Switch Assy.)
- Check voltage.
- Inspect Front Door Courtesy Lamp Switch Assy.
- OK: Go To Step 4 , (Repair Harness And Connector (Between Boy ECU And Front Door Courtesy Lamp Switch).
- NG: Replace Front Door Courtesy Lamp Switch Assy
- Repair Harness And Connector (Between Boy ECU And Front Door Courtesy Lamp Switch)
- OK: Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU
- NG: Repair Or Replace Harness Or Connector
- Check That Malfunction Disappear A Known Good Combination Meter Is Installed
- Check that malfunction disappear when a known good combination meter is installed.
- A : Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU
- B : Check And Replace Combination Meter Assy
- Read Value Of OBD II Scan Tool Or Toyota Hand-Held Tester
- Check output value of key unlock warning switch.
- Connect the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATA LIST mode on the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester.
- Check the key unlock warning switch condition.
- OK: Go To Step 9
- NG: Go To Step 7 , (Inspect Unlock Warning Switch Assy).
- Check output value of key unlock warning switch.
- Inspect Unlock Warning Switch Assy. See BODY MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - DIAGNOSIS

- OK: Go To Next Step , (Check Harness And Connector (Between Body ECU And Key Unlock Warning Switch).
- NG: Replace Unlock Warning Switch Assy
- Check Harness And Connector (Between Body ECU And Key Unlock Warning Switch)
- OK: Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU
- NG: Repair Or Replace Harness Or Connector
- Check That Malfunction Disappear A Known Good Combination Meter Is Installed
- Check that malfunction disappear when a known good combination meter is installed.
- A : Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU
- B : Check And Replace Combination Meter Assy
- Read Value Of OBD II Scan Tool Or Toyota Hand-Held Tester
- Check output value of parking brake switch.
- Connect the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATA LIST mode on the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA hand-held tester.
- Check the parking brake switch condition.
- OK: Go To Next Step , (Inspect Parking Brake Switch Assy).
- NG: Go To Step 13
- Check output value of parking brake switch.
- Inspect Parking Brake Switch Assy
- Check continuity.
- Check that the continuity exists between terminals of parking brake.
- Switch Pin Released: Continuity
- Switch Pin Pushed In: No Continuity
- OK: Go To Next Step , (Check Harness And Connector).
- NG: Replace Parking Brake Switch Assy
- Check continuity.
- Check Harness And Connector
- OK: Go To Next Step , (Check That Malfunction Disappear A Known Good Combination Meter Is Installed).
- NG: Repair Or Replace Harness Or Connector
- Check That Malfunction Disappear A Known Good Combination Meter Is Installed
- Check that malfunction disappear when a known good combination meter is installed.
- A : Check And Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU
- B : Check And Replace Combination Meter Assy
