Description & Operation

The hydraulic brake system uses a tandem master cylinder with vacuum power assist servo. Corolla is equipped with standard front disc and rear drum brakes.
A proportioning valve is used to regulate brake pressure between front and rear brakes. Rear drum brakes on all models are self-adjusting.
Parking brake lever mechanically activates rear brakes. A cable applies rear shoes.
ABS actuator is located on or near master cylinder.
