BRAKELIGHT Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Toyota ECHO, 2002 Toyota Celica, 2001 Toyota ECHO, and 2001 Toyota Celica. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect electrical connector from brakelight switch located near brake pedal. Using ohmmeter, ensure continuity exists between switch terminals No. 1 and 2 with brake pedal depressed. See Fig 1. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 4 (with cruise control) with pedal released. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified.
