Brake Pedal Reserve Height

  1. Check brake pedal reserve height:
    1. Release parking brake.
    2. Measure pedal reserve height with engine running and force of 110 lbs. (50 kg) applied against pedal.
    3. Measure pedal reserve height from face of pedal pad to asphalt sheet under carpet. See Fig 1.
  2. If measured reserve height is less than specification of 3.0 in. (75 mm) with 110 lbs. (50 kg) of applied force, troubleshoot the brake system.
