Diagnosis & Repair

  1. Remove the glove compartment door. Start the engine. Measure the voltage between terminal FPR of the ECM connector and body ground while racing the engine. See Fig 1. If voltage is 4.5-5.5 volts, check and replace ECM. If voltage is not 4.5-5.5 volts, go to next step.

  2. Check operation of EFI main relay. See EFI MAIN RELAY under FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - LX470 article. Replace as necessary. If okay, go to next step.
  3. Check operation of C/OPN relay. See EFI MAIN RELAY under FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - LX470 article. Replace as necessary. If relay is okay, go to next step.
  4. Check fuel pump. See FUEL DELIVERY under FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - LX470 article. Replace fuel pump as necessary. If okay, repair or replace harness or connector between fuel pump relay and ECM.
