Diagnosis & Repair

  1. Remove the ETCS fuse from the engine room junction block. See Fig 1. Check the continuity of the ETCS fuse. If okay, go to next step. If not okay, check for short in all harness and components connected to ETCS fuse.
  2. Remove the engine room ECU cover. Measure the voltage between terminal +BM of the ECM connector and body ground. See Fig 2. If voltage is 9-14 volts, check and replace ECM. If voltage is not 9-14 volts, check and repair harness or connector between battery and ETCS fuse, and ETCS fuse and ECM.
