Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus ES 300 and 2002 Lexus ES 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: During active test, the hand-held tester sends a signal to the body ECU to drive the power door lock motor. If the power door lock operates, the power door lock motor itself and the wire harness between the power door lock and body ECU are considered normal.
NOTE: Data monitor displays, on the scan tool, the switch condition judged by the body ECU. If the display changes according to the actual switch operation, the switch itself and the wire harness between the switch and body ECU are considered normal.

Using scan tool, select the active test and check that the power door lock operates. See BODY ECU ACTIVE TEST (DRIVER REAR DOOR)  table. Using scan tool, perform a data monitor of the body ECU. See BODY ECU DATA MONITOR TEST (DRIVER REAR DOOR)  table. If both active test and data monitor results are correct, problem is intermittent. If any portion of active test or data monitor fails, perform appropriate procedure. See POWER DOOR LOCK ACTIVE TEST JUDGEMENT (DRIVER REAR DOOR)  table.
