Removal & Installation (Power Seat)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove appropriate front seat. See FRONT SEAT .
  2. Remove headrest assembly. See Fig 1. Remove power seat switch knobs. Remove reclining adjuster trim cover retaining screws and trim cover. Disconnect power seat switch electrical connectors. Remove power seat switch retaining screws and switch. Remove seat belt buckle. See SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH .
  3. Remove seat cushion inner shield. Remove seat cushion inner shield No. 1 retaining screws and inner shield. Disconnect wiring harness clamps and electrical connectors between seat back and seat cushion. Remove seat cushion cover hog rings and cover. Remove hog rings at lower portion of seat back cover. Remove seat back mounting bolts and seat back.
  4. Remove reclining adjuster left inside cover retaining screws. Disconnect side air bag wiring harness from reclining adjuster left inside cover and remove cover. Remove reclining adjuster right inside cover retaining screws and cover. Using appropriate tool, remove lumbar support adjusting knob snap ring and adjusting knob.
  5. Turn up seat back cover. Using screwdriver, disengage seat back cover bracket. Disengage headrest support retaining claws and remove supports. Remove remaining seat back cover hog rings and seat back cover. Cut off seat back heater tack pins and remove seat back heater. Remove retaining screws and lumbar support assembly.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
