Removal & Installation (Manual Seat)

NOTE: Tape tip of screwdriver prior to using on plastic panels and components.
  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove appropriate front seat. See FRONT SEAT .
  2. Remove headrest assembly. See Fig 1. Using appropriate tool, remove seat vertical seat adjustment knob. Using screwdriver, remove relining adjuster release handle. Remove reclining adjuster trim panel. Remove seat belt buckle. See SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH .
  3. Remove seat cushion inner shield. Remove hog rings at lower portion of seat back cover. Disconnect side air bag wiring harness from seat cushion. Remove seat back mounting bolts and seat back. Using appropriate tool, remove lumbar support adjusting knob snap ring and adjusting knob.
  4. Turn up seat back cover. Using screwdriver, disengage seat back cover bracket. Disengage headrest support retaining claws and remove supports. Remove remaining seat back cover hog rings and seat back cover. Cut off seat back heater tack pins and remove seat back heater.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
