Removal & Installation (Power Seat)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove appropriate seat track covers and 4 mounting bolts. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect side air bag module and power seat electrical connectors. Remove front seat. Remove headrest. On models equipped with bench seats, remove center armrest from left front seat. On all models, remove power seat switch knobs. Remove 5 retaining screws and seat cushion shield. Remove 2 retaining screws and seat cushion inner shield.
  3. Remove mounting nut and inner seat belt. Remove wiring harness from seat cushion assembly. Remove seat cushion mounting bolts and seat cushion assembly. Remove seat back board. Remove hog rings, 4 mounting bolts and seat back assembly. Be careful not to damage wiring harness. Remove 2 retaining screws and reclining adjuster inside cover. Separate wiring harness from reclining adjuster inside cover.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mounting nut and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
