Removal (Column Shift Models)

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Air bag sensor assembly is located on floor under center of instrument panel, behind finish panel. See Figure.
- Remove left front door scuff plate and cowl side trim. Remove No. 1 lower panel and No. 2 under cover. Remove lower panel (glove box assembly). Remove finish panel. Disconnect air bag sensor assembly harness connectors. Using Torx wrench (T40), remove 4 Torx screws and air bag sensor assembly.
