Removal & Installation (Access Cab)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds. Remove 4 screws and front door scuff plate. See Fig 2. Remove 3 screws and rear door scuff plate. Remove bolt and front seat belt outer belt floor anchor. Remove cap, bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.
  2. Remove caps, Torx screws (T30), assist grip and roof side rail garnish. See Fig 2. Remove clip cover and front door rear scuff plate. Disconnect pretensioner electrical connector. When removing retractor, DO NOT pull on pretensioner wire harness. Remove bolt and front seat outer retractor/pretensioner.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure pretensioner wiring is properly routed and is not pinched between other parts. Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
