Removal & Installation

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable Toyota Hybrid System (THS) if necessary. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING TOYOTA HYBRID SYSTEM (THS) . Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect and shield negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds. Air bag sensor is located on the floor inside lower center cluster finish panel. See Figure.
- Remove 2 clips and using screwdriver, pry on finish panel to release remaining clips and remove lower center cluster finish panel. See Fig 1. Disconnect air bag sensor assembly connectors. Remove 4 Torx bolts and remove air bag sensor assembly.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten air bag sensor assembly Torx screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
