Engine Control Module

ECM receives information from various input devices and uses this information to control No. 1 and No. 2 solenoids on transmission valve body for transmission shifting and lock-up solenoid (also called SL solenoid) for torque converter lock-up. ECM also controls SLT solenoid operation. ECM contains a self-diagnostic system, which will store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if a failure or problem exists in electronic control system.
