Overdrive Cancel Signal (TACOMA & 4RUNNER Only)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2002 Toyota Tundra, 2002 Toyota Tacoma, 2002 Toyota Sequoia, 2002 Toyota 4Runner, and 2001 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
For circuit reference, see WIRING DIAGRAMS and/or CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
.
- Access ECM. See Figure-Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and appropriate ECM connector OD1 terminal. See Figure-Figure . If voltage is 4-6 volts, substitute known good ECM and retest. If voltage is not 4-6 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect cruise control ECU harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and cruise control ECU harness connector terminal O/D. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . If 4-6 volts (Tundra) or 9-14 volts (Tacoma) are present, replace cruise control ECU and retest. If voltage is not as specified, inspect and repair circuit between cruise control ECU and ECM. If circuit is okay, replace ECM and retest. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
